NBAUK membership is simple tiered approach to addressing individual requirements and level of commitments its members are willing or able to make.

Members enjoy certain benefits that a non-member would not normally expect to receive. Here we explore more about the membership of this organisation.

Members Benefits

It is expected that the membership with the NBAUK will result in the following benefits to our members;

  • Offer of an opportunity for networking and sharing of experiences, learning from successes from peers, and minimising the risks involved in venturing into the un-chartered waters of investments. Such well-focused networking may provide for opportunities and referrals for business among members as well as the wider business community. Networking events provide an opportunity to meet like-minded business people and celebrate their successes.
  • Acquisition of skills and knowledge useful for business by way of attending seminars, workshops, trainings and field tours. All registered members are entitled to discounted offers for NBAUK activities and seminars, which may result in better awareness among members of cutting edge developments in business opportunities; therefore help increase their profiles in competitive business landscapes.
  • Establishing and maintaining of close relationships with individuals, companies, organizations and institutions that are in the field of business development and investment promotion in the UK, whereby enabling own business address common problems.
  • Benefit from NBAUK’s representation of Nepalese business issues at local and national government level including attendance of business-focused social functions.

 
Membership Eligibility

Any incorporated or unincorporated body of persons or an individual currently engaged or aspiring to engage in business and trade, including provision of professional services in the United Kingdom, automatically qualifies for membership. However to become the voting member, a joining fee of £100 and an annual subscription fee of £100 apply.

 

Membership Grades

There are five main grades of membership in NBAUK, reflecting the individual’s level of contributions and involvements in the association activities. Criteria for each grade are outlined below.

Fellow Member (FNBAUK)
The highest grade members of the association, who are the key contributors to NBAUK activities and also participate as key speakers and/or panel chairs etc. In addition, to become a fellow, a Full Member;

  • Has been  a Chartered Member for at least one year
  • Has been a prominent NBAUK figure promoting the Association’s interest nationally and internationally
  • Is capable and willing to take up mentoring of potential Nepalese entrepreneurs
  • Able to pay an annual subscription fee of GBP £300.00.

Fellow  members are entitled to exclusive and free  access to NBAUK  events.

Chartered Member (CNBAUK)
Charter Members are successful Nepalese entrepreneurs, corporate executives and senior professionals who are also a full member of the Association. A full member is eligible for the chartered status if he/she;

  • Has served actively for the minimum of one year in the Executive Committee
  • Has organised or led at least one significant event on behalf of the Association
  • Is ready and willing to contribute to NBAUK activities as speakers and/or panel members
  • Able to pay annual subscription fee of GBP £250.00.

Chartered  members are entitled to a free access to NBAUK  events.

Full Member (MNBAUK)
Any incorporated or unincorporated body of persons or an individual currently engaged or aspiring to engage in business and trade in the United Kingdom, automatically qualifies for membership. However to become the full member, a joining fee of £100 and an annual subscription fee of £100 apply.  Only a full member has voting rights in a decision making process including an election.
Full members are entitled to a discounted access to NBAUK events.

Associate Member (ANBAUK)
The Association Membership is an honorary membership category aimed at both Nepalese and non-Nepalese professionals in a business sector who may not be businessmen themselves, but their presence in the Association is likely to benefit its members in general. An Associate Member shall not pay a joining fee. The candidate for an Associate Member;

  • Is a successful corporate executive or a senior professional in a business sector
  • Has a minimum of 3 years’ experience and/or appropriate professional qualifications in the related sector
  • Has been recommended by a valid Full Member
  • Willing to pay an annual subscription fee of £75

Associate members are entitled to discounted access to NBAUK events.

Student Member (SNBAUK)
NBAUK has a particular interest in encouraging students with an interest in business to join NBAUK. Students from all UK colleges and universities are eligible for student membership. Student membership is available at £50.00 per year and there is no joining fee applicable. An individual wishing to become a Student Member will need to provide a valid proof of their student status.
Student members are welcome to volunteer their services at NBA events in exchange for free attendance to the event in question.

Member
Any incorporated or unincorporated body of persons or an individual currently engaged or aspiring to engage in business and trade, including provision of professional services in the United Kingdom, automatically qualifies for membership.

 

 

Forthcoming Events

NBAUK members are awaiting for the annual gathering of its members in the UK.

Who is going to be the winner of the prestigious NBAUK entrepreneur of the year for 2010/11? Start spreading noise around. The decision may be placed to the popular vote at the end. Do you have someone on mind?

NBAUK would to recognise a best UK Nepalese chef, and the participate should be currently working in fast-food or restaurant, and have a past working experience either from UK or Nepal.
