NBA Chapter Formation Procedure

There are a few important criteria for the opening of a successful NBA chapter in a country or a geographical area where a significant size of Nepalese business activities exists.

Each new NBA Chapter undergoes a thorough planning process to ensure that it is built on a sustainable foundation. The process can take between 3 and 12 months to complete, and it can be outlined as follows:

  1. Establishment of a group of minimum of 5 active members
  2. Appointment of resident businessmen for the position of President and General Secretary to execute operational tasks - evidence of residence must be submitted
  3. Submission of following documents to NBAUK for its perusal or to NBAGlobal when formed;
    1. Chapter proposal with annual plan including the details of budgeting plan, office location if available, events calendar etc
    2. Local registration certificate as a non-profit organisation
    3. Signed Application for Authorised Affiliation that requires the chapter, among other things, to contribute 25% of membership fees collected to NBAGlobal fund
    4. Understand and agree to the norms of NBAUK statute and that of NBAGlobal when formed, which are available from their respective websites and their Presidents

Final approval of the chapter will be made by the President of the Association on behalf of the NBAUK or NBAGlobal Executive Committee as appropriate. The chapter should hold an official launch event within 3 months of such approval. The event will also be inaugurated by the representative from NBAUK or NBAGlobal Executive Committee.

Setting up of a regional chapter within a country will be governed by slightly different rules. The Executive Committee of the country could form or dissolve a regional chapter when it deems necessary. The regional chapter will be led by the coordinator, who will be a member of the national executive committee of the country. There will be no president in the regional chapter.

Who is going to be the winner of the prestigious NBAUK entrepreneur of the year for 2010/11? Start spreading noise around. The decision may be placed to the popular vote at the end. Do you have someone on mind?
